Maaike

I’ve been a bit silent on my blog lately. This is primarily caused by the birth of my second child Maaike. She is everything we could have hoped for!

I’m mostly running around with diapers, towels and video/photo camera’s if I’m not entertaining visitors or my son Sjoerd or posting to the family blog!

Did you pass math

Some people complained about the fact that they had to register to add comments on this blog. Requiring people to login was the easiest way to get rid of spam after problems I had with SpamKarma.
While waiting for eclipse/subversion to finish its’ tasks I decided to install Did You Pass Math? (DYPM). DYPM asks the […]

Hello Spring!

Finally a post about the season Spring instead of the framework. Apart from the occasional stroke of pollinosis I’m really enjoying the first rays of sun (and the first SAS BBQ of the year last weekend). And since my son learned how to walk and enjoy playing at playgrounds I’ve got even more reasons to […]

Busy week

What a busy week I it was!
This week:

I started dieting, I’ve got to loose some weight
I managed to get my part in the project back on track after Arne was taken of the project
I prepared (and presented) a presentation on the how/what/why of the CTO board for quarterly company meeting
I tried to figure out the […]

Learning Dutch

Someone sort of complained about the fact that my Blog is starting to look like a resume. Maybe he’s right, but I didn’t really intend it to be…
This post however is about another training I attended today. The training could however be the start of a some better, and more useful posts. Most trainings I […]

SamsoNOTe

A couple of weeks ago the zipper of my Samsonite laptop bag broke. Could happen you would think. Well, it could.. but something similar happened last year to the bag before. Luckily Samsonite replaced my bag again, for the third time, and offered me another two years of warranty. Did I find my way into […]

Back in business!

We’re back online! Average speed seems to be around the 8/1 , which is far under the max of 20… but still much faster then the previous connection… and much cheaper

Switching internet provider

Pricewise our old and trusted Demon ADSL was getting a bit old. The 4/1 mbit line was quite a bit more expensive then most of the current 20/1 mbit connections; and with the new types of VOIP based plans we don’t need a separate telephone account anymore.
So today was going to be the day that […]

Wordpress security upgrade

Due to a security issue in wordpress, the software behind this blog, I upgraded it to the latest (hopefully safe) version. Let me know if you notice something broken…!

Performancing

I came across the ‘performancing’ plugin for Firefox, which extends  Firefox with functionality to publish items  to my blog from a nice XUL interface.
For now I’m just testing to see if it is useful or not…
More about performancing can be found here
