When JBoss went up for sale Oracle placed a bid as well.... so the might be interested in expanding their portfolio. However... as I mentioned elsewhere: Oracles' portfolio isn't really lacking a specific type of product. Oracle is however getting heavy competition from SAP and HP... they're probably trying to get ahead of them by trying to incorporate BEA. People are speculating about the actual why.
