A self-supporting web programming kernel that’s all written in JavaScript
Couldn’t find much about it, but they seem to deem it the successor of the current AJAX model…. I’m curious… since it’s still Javascript…
Will probably take a couple of months to get some traction!

Als ik zoek op zijn naam (Dan Ingalls) vind ik deze pagina met een iets andere uitleg:

“Dan is currently at Sun Microsystems where he is working on a new kernel for JavaScript that will offer the reflective capabilities needed for proper development support, as well as in-browser support for other high-level languages.”
Wat ik hieruit begrijp is dat hij werkt aan een JavaScript-engine met reflection. Als een van de Smalltalk-architecten is dat laatste niet verwonderlijk, aangezien reflection een belangrijk onderdeel van Smalltalk is.
Verder kan deze engine ook andere talen draaien.
Deze engine zie ik overigens niet snel in populaire browsers terugkomen. Firefox gaat de Actionscript-engine van Adobe gebruiken en Microsoft gebruikt liever zijn zelfgebouwde engine.
