Vista vs. OsX

With the launch of Windows Vista today I was reminded of a nice video I came across a while ago:

The widget/gadget thingy kept me thinking…. I just had to look it up! Here are the definitions from the Oxford Dictionary:

widget: noun, informal, a small gadget or mechanical device.
gadget: noun, a small mechanical device or tool.

So there actually IS a difference ;)

    Haha, I also liked the comment some microsoft guy made: We just don’t want people to use Mac.

    Vista is one big fake out, check this;

    “When you download licenses for protected content, you agree that Microsoft may include a revocation list with the licenses […] content owners may ask Microsoft to revoke the software’s ability to use WMDRM to play or copy protected content ” — Windows Vista EULA.

    So you “download” (a.k.a. BUY) a license to watch protected content, and you give Microsoft the right to revoke that license at any given time. And if that isn’t bad enough, this is in the Vista EULA, and NOT in the TOS of DRM protected content. (Or, equally wrong but more understandable, the TOS of a (separate) Windows mediaplayer)
    So you (have to) agree with the possible revocation of a license months if not years before even receiving the license.

    And what about;
    “when I disable my HD monitor, I can watch the movie, on my old VGA screen, but, what is the point of having a HD monitor and not being able to watch a HD movie on it” — Muslix64

    And low and behold, the HD content protection was (
    disabled by Muslix64 shortly after.
    But he is not a hacker,cracker or pirate. His efforts should be called ”fair use enforcement”

    Vista, Robben island 2007.
    Well just my 2 cents.
