Fathersday
Published by peter June 18th, 2006 in fun.Today I had my first, and best fathersday ever. Most people wouldn’t even think about achieving anything at such day at all, I managed to do quite a lot! Here a short summary of my day:
07:15 - Woken up by Sjoerd
07:20 - Got a nice present from Sjoerd, a book about bears and fishing to read to Sjoerd. My wife promissed me a new BBQ but I’ll have to pick it myself. NICE!
07:45 - Breakfast with a nice cup of espresso, and my first homegrown strawberry! Not sweet but still one of the best strawberries I ever ate!
09:00 - Vacuumed the lower floor while Danielle was painting the front window-frame (I sanded it yesterday). Of coarse vacuuming includes putting some time in setting up a nice playlist on the streamium.
11:00 - Have a nice cup of tea AND another cup of espresso
11:15 - Read the first chapter of the SCJP for Java 5 study guide, made the chapter’s test and succeeded
12:00 - Lunch!
12:45 - Went out walking with Sjoerd
14:00 - Got ourselves some nice cold drinks
14:30 - Laid down in the gras with Sjoerd:
15:00 - Fired up the BBQ!!
15:10 - Got myself a nice cold beer
15:15 - Prepared the chicken (marinated using a couple of nice spices, garlic, soy sauce and olive oil), the vegetables and the potatos (chopped up and spiced, garlic and marinated in sweet white wine and olive oil, wrapped in tinfoil)
15:45 - Placed the prepared chicken and vegetables on the BBQ
16:00 - Made a ’summer’ playlist (including but not limited to: Calexico, Manu Chao, Buena Vista Social Club and Señor Coconut) for the streaming and cranked the volume
16:15 - Mending the BBQ, at this point in time the food looked something like this (careful, this is advanced BBQing only put on entire chickens if you know what you’re doing ;)!):
17:05 - OK, the food was ready a bit sooner then I anticipated… but hey, it tasted DAMN good. Had a nice glass of chilled leftover white wine!
18:00 - Cleaned up the mess I made
19:15 - Put Sjoerd in bath and in bed afterwards
19:55 - Started typing this blogpost…
20:10 - Going to get myself a nice glass of red wine, and relax in the sunset while watching my olive tree move in the soft evening breeze. Aaah… this is life!

Well… in my spare hours I’m back-watching all family guy episodes…. I’ve watched season 1 and most of season 3 (the download of season 3 went faster the season 2) and actually I like it! thanks for the tip…

It refers me to http://maas-frensch.com/peter/wp-comments-post.php and the errormessage reads Error: This file cannot be used on its own.
PS these two messages were posted with the “aid” of uncle Bill’s Internet Exploder.
Unfortunately I have been unsuccesfull in disembowelling Windoze eXPeriment enough to completely remove the wretched mandatory Internet Exploder.
But that’s offcourse a different issue all together.
