Redhat buys JBoss

In some of my previous posts I mentioned the rumors about Oracle being interested in buying JBoss…

Today Redhat announced the fact that THEY have bought JBoss!
From the redhat announcement:

By acquiring JBoss, Red Hat expects to accelerate the shift to service-oriented architectures (SOA), by enabling the next generation of web-enabled applications running on a low-cost, open source platform.

Maybe this will pave the road for a viable open source solution in the corporate market, allowing us to drop weblogic/websphere in certain situations!
