Hibernate training
Published by peter February 23rd, 2006 in java.| Today a colleague of mine and I conducted a Hibernate training for a medium sized Dutch software house. My part of the training was helping with the hands-on exercises and giving a presentation on the basics of HQL , the Criteria API and association mappings.
Since I’m not using Hibernate on the current project (we use iBatis) I had to refresh my (rusty) knowledge in less then two days…. hard… I can tell you. But at the end the training was successful, the experienced users actually learned a couple of new tricks (especially stuff about versioning, transactions and tuning). And the novice attendees actually managed to get a simple hibernate setup going! |

I regret I was born so young! Wished we had had this in the Dijkstra days!
By the way, of I had a choice I would rather give training in this form of Hibernation: “Hibernation is a state of regulated hypothermia, lasting several days or weeks, that allows animals to conserve energy during the winter.”
Being ‘born to young’ sounds a bit awkward doesn’t it, I think the scientific word is premature… which is probably not what you mean…
Maybe you should look at it in a different perspective: all struggling you did using ANSI SQL actually triggered some people to come up with something smarter… Thanks!
