Ubuntu 5.10 breezy & Gruff
Published by peter February 17th, 2006 in linux, ruby.Gruff is a charting library for Ruby which can be used alone or with Ruby on Rails. I tried using it a couple of times, but couldn’t get it to work. The error was non-informative at best:
- uninitialized constant Gruff (NameError)
- NoMemmoryError
After going over the following steps:
1. build and installed ruby 1.8.4 from source
2. downloaded ruby-zlib-0.6.0 and installed
3. downloaded and installed rubygems-0.8.11
4. intalled imagemagick using apt
5. installed imagemagick dev packages (including c++) using apt (!)
6. installed rmagic using gem
7. installed gruff using gem
I actually got it to work!
