MS IE on Linux

Browser requirements for the project I’m working on include MS IE >= 5. To bad, but true. Since this implies that we test the developed application in IE I previously used VMWare (good stuff!) to do this.

But having different versions of IE in windows proved to be difficult and I ended up with multiple VMWare images. For testing during development switching between images is just to slow.

I found a much quicker solution: ie4linux.

ie4linux uses wine to emulate windows and the installer allows you to select which versions of IE to install!

Nice find! I’ll give it a whirl, if only to keep the end-users stuck with IE content.
